If you want to spend your vacation very actively, there are many nearby ski destinations to choose from: Mountain Kanin which is 2200 metres, Sella Nevea, Tarvisio in Italy or Arnoldstein, Nassfeld in Austria. Those ski areas are reachable by car in 10 – 30 minutes. You have the possibility of cross-country skiing in Log pod Mangartom, Tarvisio and Sella Nevea. Motel Encijan also organises ice skating and skiing for beginners.
Other sports include rafting and kayaking on the river Soca, canyoning in Log pod Mangartom, paragliding in tandem from Mt. Mangart or Mt. Kanin and many others.
